Pace is the speed at which something happens, changes, or develops.
WORK WITH ME TO FIND YOUR PACE
About Coach Kelly
I am a coach, plant-based chef, triathlete, runner, outdoor junkie, and dog-lover. I've always enjoyed being active and spending time outside. After a while, I found myself wanting to sign up for races and try to push my limits. I liked setting a goal and having a date on the calendar to work towards. My background was in running track and cross-country, but in 2005, I got into the sport of triathlon. At first, I was clueless about how to train or race properly. I had so many questions! Over the years, I learned more with each race I competed in, but it wasn't until I started working with a coach that I saw big improvements. I learned how to train smart so that racing was actually fun. Understanding the why behind each workout keeps me focused to achieve my goals.
As my goals got bigger and my races got longer, training and race-day nutrition became another area of focus for me. I’ve been eating a plant-based diet for more than 25 years, but I never felt like I was fueling properly or eating the healthiest options. I started doing my own research and filled my diet with lots of healthy whole foods. Cutting out the sugar and processed junk was really easy in my daily nutrition, but when it came to fueling for training and racing I still felt like I was relying on tons of sugary sports products. I didn’t always like how all of the sugar made me feel after long training sessions or races. I knew there had to be a better way. I worked with a few nutritionists over the years to help me figure out what worked best for me. I learned so much from personal experience and by completing several certification courses, and now I want to share my knowledge with others. Being a Level 1 Certified Metabolic Efficiency Training Specialist enables me to help athletes be more efficient at burning fat and carbs using diet and exercise. As a plant-based athlete, I enjoy creating my own delicious, healthy meals everyday to support my training and racing. I decided to get certified as a plant-based chef to fine tune my cooking skills and share my love of cooking with others. I also want to help my athletes incorporate more plant-based options into their daily nutrition.
I’ve learned so much valuable information over the years and I really wanted to be able to share my passion for health and nutrition with others. I also know there is more to it than just eating well and exercising regularly. It’s also about being fulfilled in all areas of your life including career, relationships, spirituality; doing what you love and what brings you joy. These aspects of life are all connected. This led me to create a holistic approach to helping others through Integrative Health Coaching. This sustainable approach to health focuses on understanding what fuels us both on and off the plate.
I am so grateful for the experiences I've had in life. Not everything happened as I planned or expected and certainly not at the pace I wanted it to. Over time it has changed and developed, turning into something wonderful. Now I am thrilled to share my knowledge with you. PACE Coaching and Wellness specializes in working with athletes looking to achieve optimal health through nutrition, exercise and lifestyle. Being a coach provides me with the opportunity to give back. I get to share my knowledge and experience with my athletes. I am confident we can partner together to get you to where you want to be. For some, this means setting a “PR” during a race and for others this could be losing weight or having more energy throughout the day. It’s not a one-size fits all program, quick-fix, crash diet or cleanse. PACE helps to facilitate positive behavior change in a structured and supportive partnership through its Coaching Programs.
